On Monday, the S&P 500 closed higher as sectors in the index such as the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Technology brought in higher gains however, just narrowly increased closing records of the past sessions. As a result, the S&P experienced a 0.5% increase. 

The stocks that brought in the best results were the NVIDIA Corporation, which experienced a 3.96% rise to 212.28, Jefferies Financial Group Inc, which surged 3.88% to close at 19.83 and Discovery Inc. Class A which experienced an increase of 3.50% to conclude at 30.76.

Meanwhile, the stocks that brought in the worst results were the ABIOMED Inc, which experienced a 20.22% plunge to 178.09 during late trading, Nektar Therapeutics, which dropped 8.35% to conclude at 18.01 and Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation, which lost 5.50% to conclude at 17.17.

What seemed to drive the market was reports on the 90-day extension that Trump’s administration has granted the company Huawei which permitted American companies to proceed with their trading of the telecom giant. However, investors were also pulled back by reports from CNBC, which mentioned that the attitude of the U.S when it comes to cutting down on current tariffs seemed unclear.
